"Nastics"

I cannot express in words how much our girls LOVE gymnastics.  Most of our Mondays are spent at the gym.  They used to call it "Nastics" when they were smaller.  It's hard to get good pictures inside the gym due to the poor lighting, but I took my camera one night and tried my best.  They aren't the sharpest pics, but I'm glad I got a few of them doing something they love.

Gami Time

Gami and I were able to have a quick get away to Canton, TX.  We walked, browsed, walked, browsed and walked some more.  It was a fun time!  Then she came back to our house and spent the weekend with us and the girls.  We spent a couple of afternoons down at the park just goofy around. They love having Gami all to themselves!

October recap

October has been a typical busy month for us.  Gymnastics, work, park play and lot of snuggles.  We've enjoyed being back in football season and warm cups of spiced tea in the evenings.  We had a garage sale mid-month and learned that Adsion is quite the little sales woman.  The girls are growing and now able to do more chores around the house. (a big help for mommy and daddy)  Abi is learning to type on a keyboard and Adison is beginning to catch on to the whole reading thing. :)  The girls had a "what I want to be" day at school.  Adison was an Olympic Gold Gymnast and Abi was a cute little pharmacist.  Steven and the girls went to Louisiana to visit Pops and spend time with family.  And of course, the pumpkin patch and Halloween were super fun!

I started out the month with this passage and it has been one of my consistent prayers.  There are many examples around us of those who hear and have a knowledge of God's word, but are too fearful of man and this world to actually put those words into practice.  I am also thankful for those who have given me a Godly example by practicing His words each and every day.  The comparison is night and day to me.  I can see visible fruit from those houses built on the rock and also see the hurt and heartache from those that have been through a great crash.
My prayer is to build our family on a solid foundation by not only hearing God's words, but by putting what we hear into practice.  The rain, floods, and wind WILL come and I pray that we and our children have a firm footing on solid ground.

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.  The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.  But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who build his house on sand.  The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."
- Matthew 7:24-27

The girls also have verses that they learn each month. Here is a fun clip of two verses from this month.

Longhorns and cowgirls (well, kinda . . .)

Some friends of ours own Longhorns and now have two new babies.  We went out to eat dinner one evening and took some pictures while we were there.  The cows weren't cooperating that much, so there will definitely be a re-do of their photo shoot. :) My two little semi-cowgirls had a blast out in the open field.

Trick or Treat

We found out last year that our neighborhood is a HUGE place trick-or-treat.  So, the girls could not wait to hit the streets.  I was able to snap a few shots of them before the we started on our candy quest.

After we made our way back home, the girls really wanted to hand out candy as well.  The wigs came off and they planted themselves outside the entryway.  By this point most of the kids were leaving the neighborhood, but we got to see some of our favorite teenagers!
Abi and Adison loaded them up with handfuls of candy!
